Riena: Yep, another Choose Your Own Adventure. I would like to make it clear that I was on MM.org, E-Fiction, Freedom of Speech, and FF.net...but after FF.net deleted my stories a total of ten times (this one twice) and MM.org deleted my CYOA: Crytal Rose...I just couldn't take it anymore. I figured I'd give it one more shot...
Disclaimer: I don't own anything in this story except for the idea. You belong to yourself, YYH belongs to it's respectful owners, and everything else (unless I say otherwise) belongs to Jane Yolen, the author of Dragon's Blood and a very talented writer.
Riena: On with the fic!
' ' = thinking
IV = 4 in roman numerals

You sat in the passenger's seat of the truck and slowly reached up to touch the metal collar on your neck and then brought your hand down to touch the soft bag that hung from your throat just as the truck hit another bump, which it did almost every five seconds. A hollow clink came from your small bag, proof of the few scarce coins you had managed to collect during your month on Austar IV.
You see, a month ago, your parents had lost all of their money and had been forced to sell you into bond on the remote planet of Austar IV. This would be your third Nursery since you had been sold. Most of the Nursery owners probably thought that a girl should work in the kitchens instead. Figures.
You coughed as some desert sand blew in through the car window. You had heard that Sarkkhan's Nursery was the best on Austar IV. You figured that you would discover whether those rumors were true or not once you finally arrived at your new home. How long it would be your home, you weren't sure.
Finally, FINALLY, the driver made a sharp turn and the road was suddenly lined with palm trees. Or, at least, they LOOKED like palm trees. You weren't sure if they really had palm trees on Austar IV. The car came to a tree-way fork in the road and the driver turned onto the right-most path to stop in front of a large building. You stepped out into the harsh heat of the red sun that heated Austar IV. 'Too much,' you thought bitterly, wiping some sweat off your forehead.
You would probably cheer up once you started work. You didn't really enjoy cleaning up lizard waste and feeding the Nurseries occupants was no vacation either, but you DID enjoy working with the animals. You would prefer working in a Nursery instead of a kitchen anyway, simply because of one crucial factor; the animals that they raised at the Nursery, dragons.

Riena: Sorry about the shortness, but it will get better...I hope. Anyways, I should be uploading the next chapter really soon, so you'll just have to be patient. Don't forget to review!
